About Me

Dan KonsoerThank you for visiting my site. My name is Dan Konsoer and I am a programmer residing in the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago.

Working with computers has been a hobby of mine since age 13 and this field has grown to so much more than just a career for me, it's a passion.

I have been developing web-based software applications for over fifteen years, and have gained vast knowledge in HTML, xHTML, CSS, PHP, jQuery, Javascript as well as database management systems, MariaDB, MySQL and MSSQL.

I am also certified in four different web development languages.

In addition to the software development, I strongly believe in utilizing social networking sites to help promote businesses. Facebook, Twitter, Myspace, LinkedIn, etc are great ways to network with potential customers. Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is also a key feature to build for your site. When someobdy searches for a product related to your business, odds are they will click the first five links in the search results, so I work hard to make sure my projects are always on the top of that list!

I am well versed in several software applications, such as the Microsoft Office suite, ranging from 2000 through 2013, The Adobe product suite, ranging from CS2 through CS6, Windows 98 through Windows 8, as well as several others. I have a strong technical background as well, starting from my training at Geek Squad, through working at District 230 a computer technician, as well as working on family & friends computer systems. I have put together small office networks for small businesses around the area.

I am confident my versatility and knowledge in this field will benefit me in finding gainful employment, and I feel as if I could be a great asset for any organization.

In 2007, I landed a full-time position with Lincoln-Way High School District 210 as their sole webmaster. In my time at the school district, I have redesigned and coded the website three times, and the most current is written using a PHP & MSSQL platform in a Windows Environment. I'm glad to have been able to make their website dynamic, as with a website of that size; having pages change on the fly really helps keep the content fresh.

In 2010, I began working with a company working as their programmer/database administrator. I write code using PHP & MySQL all built on a LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) platform. For the first two years of my employment, I was the sole programmer, and completed a re-write of the corporate intranet which is an essential component of each employees daily work functions. I now lead a team of two other developers, and we are in the process of a complete re-write of all the software our company uses, using Object Oriented programming.

I have recently opened my own software development firm called PuzzlesProgramming. I will slowly migrate my software projects off this website, over to the new domain.

If you have any questions or would like to hire me for your next software, please do not hesitate to contact me. Thank you.
